INVENTORIES
Our team of inventory consultants have specialized in the
task of physically gathering all pertinent data relating
to the equipment being inventoried. In utilizing our in
house developedt forms or entering the data being controlled
directly onto our hand held field computers, our people
are able to present accurate, complete, and detailed information
for all items. All inventories are conducted in the same
consistent format allowing for the standardizing of data
and its presentation. Facilities vary in size and types
of equipment found, with our unique format of data capture
and organization enables people to easily review information
collected in a clear and concise format. All of our personnel
are trained and have gone through the industry standard
safety cources. Iron Mountain is a fully insured company
with WCB policy in place.
PHOTOS
AND DIGITAL IMAGING
In creating this system it was understood how important photos
and images are to inventory control and support of data.
Digital photographs are taken during our field inventory
audits of all major items found on each location. Each photo
is captured and filed under the site, LSD, and name. Drawings
are also electronically stored and are retrievable on the
system through a simple query request. A picture is worth
a thousand words!
EVALUATION/APPRASALS
Iron Mountain Services has been conducting physical inventories
and equipment appraisals as its primary business service
for the past 23 years. During this time we have developed
a substantial in house database of equipment and values.
Utilizing this information we are able to evaluate individual
items and large packaged facilities. We continually update
our database with industry pricing and new equipment to
the patch. By keeping in touch with suppliers and fabricators
we are always utilizing the most updated values in the
industry. Each evaluation or appraisal project is handled
professionally and follows PASC industry standards.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
GAIMS, (Global Asset Inventory Management System) our new
system has been developed over this past year utilizing
the knowledge we have gained from previous inventory management
systems we have built. The system acknowledges the requests
and data requirements that the oil industry professionals
have presented to us. We have put into play a system which
is user friendly, strong in data content and has reporting
functions to assist all divisions within a company. Companies
can choose from two operating platforms, in house mainframe,
or our new totally web enabled file server system. The
system’s primarily function is to control office
and field data inventory. Tracking data by site information
then with codes, packaging, unique identifiers, purchase
orders, AFE’s, naming, descriptions, status, and
condition. Each company can choose the level of control
they require from detailed bar coding to simple item naming
conventions. By being able to control and search this data
base system in house or by utilizing our staff, companies
will now be able to have this option of maintaining their
data from the field or office. Data transfer of equipment
from one site to another is simply point and click. Multifaceted
query options allow searches to be conducted by most any
descriptor or site information captured. New add on modules
to the system are being created on an ongoing as requested
basis.
DATA HANDLING
With the vast amounts of data being collected in the field
our office staff has developed steps to follow once they
have received the information to expedite its handling
and quick presentation to the client. Our in house team
receives the data from the field either on paper format,
or electronically. Once in our office the data is sorted,
coded, packaged, and proofed prior too entry. Utilizing
consistent industry naming conventions and descriptors
our information is entered onto our in house inventory
management system (GAIMS).
MATERIAL TRANSFERS
Our web enabled system now allows for field material transfers
to take place daily. If given access to editing, your field
personnel can now post the movements of equipment online.
A simple five step option walks the individual through
the transfer process and communicates the process with
the office staff. Qualifying and approving the movement
of equipment with the field in real time, thus speeding
up the process which will assist in keeping the system
up to date and remote internal use of surplus equipment.
MANAGEMENT AND SYSTEM SUPPORT
Iron Mountains management team are the owners of the system
and company. With a hands on approach to inventories and
management of the data information we are able to work
directly with the clients developing a system and service
that suites their requirements. With our in house programming
team we are able to provide system support as well as online
help. In house training is also available upon request.
Initial start up help is a priority with each client, kick
starting them into the system and its many applications.

Iron Mountain Services Ltd. and AltaPlant & Equipment
Sales Ltd. are actively marketing our clients’ assets,
including Oil Refineries, Gas Plants, Wellsite Facilities,
as well as individual pieces of equipment. Incorporated in
1982 and actively been in the oil and gas business since
1973. With our hands on approach to sales and marketing we
are willing to travel and work professionally with clients
to get the job done!
